We are vegan friendly, so we do it with a bacterial bio fermentation using glucose derived from corn. The glucose is a simple sugar, made by plants and most algae during photosynthesis from the water and carbon dioxide. Using the energy from the sunlight where it is used to make cellulose in cell walls, the most abundant carbohydrate in the world. This is why we use glucose, as it’s simple, it's abundant and it's a natural process.

Witch hazel is an astringent, clarifying and toning properties helps reduce oiliness and calm the skin.

aha's VS bha's
Salicylic acid is the most common BHA and the strongest. It is not as irritating as glycolic acid which is the strongest of the AHA’s and used widely in the pharmaceutical world. BHA’s have a larger molecular size and anti inflammatory in nature, another reason we use BHA’s more than the AHA’s.

why aloe vera as our first ingredient?
Aloe vera is used in place of water as a base for hydration and as an anti-inflammatory superhero. Its benefits are due to a combination of stars, including Vitamins A, B, folic acid, enzymes, proteins, amino acids, good fatty acids and triglycerides. These added benefits are why we've chosen to use Aloe Vera instead of purified water base. Aloe vera contains a popular natural depigmentation compound modes known as Alwyn and it's only found in the gel not the juice. This compound effectively lightens the skin and eliminates dark spots, pigmentation, skin imperfection and eradicates dead skin cells.
-
oils vs serum?
Unlike serums which absorb deeply into the skin, face oils have a larger molecule that can only penetrate the surface. Oils work on strengthening the skin's barrier, the outer layer, to minimise trans epidermal water loss. This keeps skin hydrated and plump improving the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, but it doesn't do anything under the surface. Serums are always applied first, as oils can easily penetrate moisturisers and serums and any other treatments but no product can penetrate through an oil, therefore oils should always be applied last.
-
exfoliating scrubs vs exfoliating masks?
Both are necessary for a clear complexion. Exfoliating makes it easier for the skin to absorb the ingredients in your face mask, by removing the dead layers of the of cells on the surface of your skin. Exfoliating scrubs are great for if you've got a particular product that you really want to get through and deeper penetration.
-
what is an emulsifier?

what is cystic acne?
Cystic acne are large, painful cysts/bumps that are deep under the skin and can appear on the face, back and chest. They are not the same as a 'normal' breakout, they can hang around for days or weeks and cannot be solved with just washing your face.
There are a multitude of causes, such as dead skin cells, bacteria and sebum being trapped under the skin, as well as hormone imbalance and diet. The biggest thing to remember with cystic acne is that you don’t want to strip the skin with harsh products that over cleanse, over stimulate and dry out the skin. This can lead to aggravating the skin and making the problem worse. It is best to go in with gently cleansing, soothing, hydrating and treating this skin condition. -
what causes dehydrated skin?
Dehydrated skin is when your skin is feeling, itchy, flaky, dry, sensitive, dull complexion and fine lines become more noticeable. The cause of dehydration to the skin can be due to factors such as the weather, not drinking enough water, overly hot showers, air conditioning, harsh/stripping skincare products and alcohol.
