caring for your skin in the cooler months.

The cooler weather can wreak havoc on your skin, leaving it dry, flaky and itchy. But with the right skincare routine, you can keep your skin healthy and glowing all year round! As the season changes, we would love to share our favourite tips on caring for your skin!

Moisturise

The most important step in looking after your skin now winter is over is to moisturise regularly. The cold, dry air can strip your skin of its natural oils, leaving it feeling dry and tight. Look for a rich, nourishing moisturiser that contains ingredients like hyaluronic acid, shea butter or ceramides. Apply your moisturiser twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, to keep your skin hydrated and supple.

Our Thirsty Moisturiser is perfect for any skin type that is feeling dry, itchy or flaky. It contains active ingredients including hyaluronic acid, desert lime and green tea. This help deeply hydrate the skin, retain moisture and brighten the complexion.

Use a Gentle Cleanser

Winter weather can make your skin more sensitive, so it's important to use a gentle cleanser that won't strip your skin of its natural oils. Look for a pH-balanced, hydrating cleanser that won't irritate your skin. Avoid using hot water, which can further dry out your skin, and opt for lukewarm water instead.

The Delicate Cream Cleanser is designed to remove makeup, dirt and excess oils without stripping or irritating the skin. It contains active ingredients including Milk Thistle which provides anti-inflammatory benefits. Jacaranda and Elderflower help soften the skin as well as help skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema and flakiness.

This is a great option in the colder months to treat your skin with gentle kindness by not over stripping or over cleaning which can cause irritation and dryness.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating can help to remove dead skin cells and unclog pores, allowing your skin to absorb moisture more effectively. Be careful not to over-exfoliate, as this can damage your skin's natural barrier.

Our Essentials Rosehip Cream Exfoliant is a completely natural physical exfoliant that uses rosehip powder to gently buff away dead skin cells. It utilises active ingredients such as watermelon and strawberry that contain vitamins a, b and c. These help to brighten acne scars, promote cell regeneration and collagen production. This product is an essential addition to your winter routine to keep the skin feeling soft and bright without over exfoliating or drying out the skin.

Protect your skin from the sun

Even in winter, the sun's UV rays can cause damage to your skin. Be sure to wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 every day, even on cloudy days. Look for a moisturising sunscreen that won't dry out your skin, and reapply every two hours if you're spending time outdoors.

Treat yourself to a hydrating face mask

A hydrating face mask can help to replenish your skin's moisture levels and soothe dry, irritated skin. Use your face mask once or twice a week for best results.
The Thirsty Hydrating Gel Mask contains active ingredients including hyaluronic acid, peptide and jojoba oil to hydrate and strengthen the skin, as well as plump fine lines and wrinkles.

A great option any time of the year but a brilliant addition in winter to deeply moisturise the skin used either as a treatment mask. It is left on for 10-20 minutes or it can also be used as a sleeping mask, applied as part of your night time routine and left on overnight.
